Want to stand out from the average Heer unit?
Want an extra bit of bling?
Then let's become a Jäger Regiment!
Jäger were "elite light infantry" units and wore the following natty little bling on their right arm.

If anybody is up for it, we can get a job lot of insignia from Anthony at Bryansk! Sign up now!

Already got one! I always thought it was worn on the right upper arm?

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

*cough* That's what I said, didn't I...?

I'm up for it - if it fits in my my impression as it is just now?

As far as I can see Mike, it does - I'm going to be putting a Jäger badge on my non unit-specific M40 tunic. ![]()

Good stuff - if you can get one for me, chuck me it at Bryansk and I'll sort you out with the clams! ![]()

I'm trying to get hold of Anthony, to bring a few along to Bryansk!

Pity I've already got one on my Major Konig uniform!

My brandenburg uniform has one too...

"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Update: requirements for a correct Jäger uniform are:
Jäger armbadge (as discussed)
Jäger metal cap badge (as discussed - unless you're wearing a helmet!)
Green Waffenfarbe on shoulderboards and Litzen (not infantry white!). Generic Litzen are acceptable, naturally.

Roy, I suggest you call the number on the website and speak to Anthony.

Is there a nice Gucci Jager banner that we can add on our sigs? Also would much insignia be worn on a greatcoat or would most of it stay on the jacket? Cheers Jimbo

I'm pretty sure there would only be the Jäger badge on the sleeve of the tunic, Jimbo.
As for a banner... I'm not sure how many (or should that be few?) are actually wanting to badge up as Jäger. For now, the Landser one will do.
As regards Waffenfarbe colour for shoulderboards, there is a lot of debate about whether it should be light or mid green. Many suppliers are in fact wrong! After looking at pics of some original Jäger / Gebirgsjäger s/boards (they were the same colour), it is obvious that they were mid-green colour like this:

(Ignore the unit numbers - that was an early-war fashion. As the war went on, they realised that allowing the enemy such easy identification of units was inept.)
By contrast, here is Panzergrenadier Waffenfarbe - a distinctly lighter green.

However, I have picked up a tip from Herr Old 'Un, and coloured my Infanterie white s/boards with a felt-tipped pen! (Heh, I'm not sure if it's waterproof, since we always tend to buy washable pens in case of kid vandalism!
) Here are mine:

Jimbo the only insignia you need on a greatcoat is the shouldboards. Sometimes cuff titles were also put on but I'm leaving them off mine so I can use it for multiple impressions.
I'm tempted to try the pen trick on my DAK shoulderboards; I have Infantry ones but Panzergrenadier is far more suitable for Africa. Although I may wait until I find out what the next opportunity to use my tropical kit is to see which would be the best choice.
My HBT jacket has red stains on the shoulders from where the red dye ran from the shoulderboards at Churchills - I think they were the ones that came with the jacket from Spearhead or HK Keith. So, even manufactured waffenfarb can run, but washable felt-tip is bound to! Solvent based 'Sharpies' or similar should be OK, I would have thought.

Only used black marker on Che's for sturm, didn't run but has faded immensly to grey ![]()

Welcome! That's the sort of talk I like to hear!
Yes, I'd recommend a set of field greys from militaria-net. Anthony is actually having an open day on Saturday, where you can try kit on for size - PM The Reich Stuff for directions (somewhere in Yorks). He's also the only person I've found who sells the Jäger arm badge, too! ![]()

Yep, tried Nic Morigi - it's about the only badge he doesn't have!
